iPhone settings
What is specific to Letakof on iPhone: system protection, auto-connect, appearance, language and updates.
Letakof on iPhone shares most settings with the other platforms: General, Network and Advanced settings, custom rules and the full configuration all look and work the same. This page covers what differs.
Connection
There is one way to connect: a system VPN (a Packet Tunnel extension). There is no choice between system proxy, TUN and local proxy.
Proxy for network devices is available under Connection → Local proxy, with a configurable port (default 7890). Its password is stored in the Keychain.
System protection
The counterpart of the kill switch, under Connection → System protection.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Route all traffic through VPN | Off | iOS lets nothing bypass the tunnel, including when the VPN drops. Applies at the next connection. |
| Local networks bypass VPN | On | Shown when the setting above is on. Keeps AirDrop, AirPlay, Bonjour and devices on your home network working. |
| Calls and SMS bypass VPN | On | Shown when Route all traffic is on. VoLTE, Wi-Fi Calling, MMS and visual voicemail. Some carriers always send this traffic outside the tunnel. |
| APNs through VPN | Off | On: Apple push traffic follows the rules of the profile. Off: it always goes directly. |
Auto-connect
Settings → Auto-connect uses iOS On Demand rules.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Connect on demand | Off | iOS brings the VPN up itself when a network is available. After you disconnect manually in the app, iOS turns it off until your next connection. |
| Disconnect on sleep | On | Disconnects when the device sleeps; with auto-connect on, iOS reconnects after wake-up. |
| Network rules | Empty | A list of rules, checked top to bottom; the first match wins. |
| Other networks | Connect | The action for networks that match no rule, with its own mode. |
A network rule has three steps: When (Wi-Fi network by name (SSID), Any Wi-Fi or Cellular), Action (Connect, Disconnect or Keep unchanged) and Routing mode (Keep unchanged, Rules, Global, Allowlist if available, or Direct). Rules work only while Connect on demand is on. A Wi-Fi rule needs the network name; Detect current network asks for location access to read it and does not read your coordinates. The mode set by a rule stays until the network changes or you pick a mode yourself.
Appearance and language
| Setting | Default | Options |
|---|---|---|
| Accent | Mint | Mint, Blue, Violet, Pink, Custom color |
| Haptic feedback | On | Not remembered between launches |
| Connection button | Pearl | Pearl, Pure glass, Light level, Core, Play / pause, Switch, Slider |
The theme is always dark. There is no language setting in the app: it follows the system language (Russian or English, English for everything else).
About and updates
About shows the app and core versions and the Privacy Policy. There is no update check in the app: updates come through the App Store.
Allowlist mode
Allowlist (called Whitelist on Android) appears only if your provider sends letakof-wl: enable; see Additional headers. It needs the Allowed domains and Allowed IP addresses lists from Connection → GEO databases.
Modules
Settings → Modules is available only on iPhone. See Modules.
